Cruz was born in the City
of Trujillo, Peru.
He graduated as a
veterinarian at Universidad Nacional de Cajamarca, Peru in 1997. He then worked in the USA at a thoroughbred breeding farm, where he was
the veterinary assistant at Woodford Equine Hospital. From 2008
- 2011, he was the primary anesthetist at Davidson Surgery Center at Hagyard
Equine Medical Institute. He then returned to Peru where he worked as an independent
veterinarian and as a Professor of Large Animal Surgery at Veterinary
College, University Scientific of the South before coming to Milton Equine
Hospital (MEH) for an internship from 2012-13. After completing his internship with us,
he went on to work at the Caledon Equine Hospital before he returned back to
MEH in July 2015.
Since a youngster he has been passionate about Peruvian Paso Horses. In his free time, Jorge enjoys sports hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. He also enjoys inventing and fixing veterinary equipment.
